KinBridge Support is a derivative work. We have made substantial changes relative to the upstream remote-desktop codebase, including but not limited to:
- Replaced the public ID-server discovery model with an approval-first, owner-controlled pairing flow (6-digit rotating codes, QR pairing, and one-time install tokens).
- Added a new web dashboard, identity layer, role-based access, and per-device preferences.
- Added a tamper-evident session audit log with structured events visible to both the device owner and the helper.
- Added the "doorbell" help-request flow, helper invitations, and family-first UX surfaces.
- Removed the upstream branding, marketing surfaces, and public-discovery defaults.
- Replaced the deep-link scheme with
kinbridge://.
All modifications inherit the AGPL-3.0 license. The dashboard branding, product design, and coordination layer are © KinBridge Support.
The KinBridge Android client bundles the same open-source dependency set as upstream (Tokio, libvpx, libyuv, OpenSSL, FFmpeg, and others). Full per-library license texts are shipped inside the app at Settings → About → View licenses.
